The Fluke-SMFT-1000-KIT Solar Multifunction Analyzer can test that PV systems are performing to their optimal power output as well as operating safely with the Fluke SMFT-1000 multifunction tester with I-V curve tracing. Designed for PV professionals that provide installation, commissioning, and maintenance services to systems that operate at 1000 V DC or under.


Fluke-SMFT-1000-KIT Solar Multifunction Analyzer is Fluke’s first Solar Multifunction Analyzer SMFT-1000 Multifunction PV Tester and Performance Analyzer an all-in-one test solution to verify PV system performance and safety, and expedite client reporting.

Features and Functions

Critical testing features for initial and periodic inspection of PV systems

  • Full sequence safety testing – IEC/EN 62446-1 Category 1: o Protective conductor resistance (RLO)
  • Voltage on open circuit, including polarity (VOC)
  • Short circuit current (ISC) or operational current with a clamp adapter
  • Insulation resistance (RINS)

ROI and system performance testing (solar module string I-V curve test) – IEC 62446-1 Category 2:

  • Solar PV I-V curve tracing and associated software for analysis, reporting, and certification and includes I-V curve analysis and reporting features
  • Computer software – download, upload, review, analyze, and print test results
  • Communication with IRR2-BT (solar irradiation, inclination, temperature)
  • Communication with computer
  • Visual inspection
  • Protective conductor resistance (RLO) measurement with a testing current ≥200 mA
  • Polarity check with automatic display of the voltage polarity with acoustic/visual warning for wrong polarity
  • Open-circuit voltage (VOC) measurement at the PV module/string with up to 1000 V DC
  • Short-circuit (ISC) current measurement at the PV module/string with up to 20 A DC or operational current with clamp adapter up to 100 A DC
  • Insulating resistance (RINS) measurement with a testing voltage of 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, 500 V, and 1000 V
  • Blocking diode measurement (VBD)
  • Surge protection device testing
  • AC/DC voltage measurement with 4 mm test sockets – Functional test by means of voltage measurement up to 700 V TRMS (for sinusoidal voltage up to 60 Hz) and 1000 V DC. The AC voltage and AC current measurement refer to frequency 50 Hz or 60 Hz, sinusoidal voltage.
  • AC/DC current measurement – functional test by means of current measurement with a current clamp adapter up to 100 A AC/DC
  • Bypass diode measurement of module when covered or in darkness
